You need to pick a real business and examine the strategies it's using to stay relevant and survive into the future. Explain what future proofing strategies are, why they matter, and which ones work best for that business. This is about long-term thinking—making sure a business doesn't become outdated or fail.
What to do, grades and common mistakes
- ·Identify a specific business and the external influences (economic, technological, environmental, social, legal, etc.) that could affect whether it survives long-term
- ·Explain what future proofing strategies are and describe at least two or three different strategies the business could use to stay viable
- ·Explain in detail how each strategy would actually work to address the influences you identified
- ·Recommend which strategy is best for that business and explain why it fits their situation better than the others
- ·Evaluate and justify your recommendation by showing how it genuinely protects the business's future and meets long-term needs
You analyse future proofing strategies by identifying the business, explaining what influences threaten it, describing what strategies could help, and explaining how each one works.
