This standard asks you to have real conversations in Spanish where you actively participate, share your own ideas, and respond to other people's viewpoints. You need to speak clearly and naturally (not like you're reading a script), using language that fits the situation and the person you're talking to, whether that's formal or casual, face-to-face or online.
What to do, grades and common mistakes
- ·Take an active part in two-way Spanish conversations by sharing your own views and keeping the discussion going
- ·Explain and defend your ideas or challenge someone else's perspective using evidence or reasoning
- ·Speak clearly and fluently enough that listeners understand your meaning without confusion
- ·Use language features and interactive strategies (like asking questions, agreeing/disagreeing, seeking clarification) that are appropriate to the situation and the person you're talking to
- ·Show you can handle different types of conversations—from casual chats to formal discussions—in culturally appropriate ways
You speak clearly in Spanish with enough fluency and interaction to explore ideas, even if there are some inconsistencies in pronunciation, speed, or language choice that occasionally interrupt the flow.
