Tables, equations, graphs
Investigate relationships between tables, equations and graphs
Study with Coach
Save your actual school result to count your credits.
You need to show you understand how tables, equations, and graphs are connected to each other. This means taking information from one form (like a table) and being able to describe it as an equation or draw it as a graph—and vice versa. You'll work with linear, quadratic, and simple exponential relationships.
What to do, grades and common mistakes
- ·Make clear links between tables, equations, and graphs so that you can move information between these three forms
- ·Show you know the correct math vocabulary and concepts related to relationships and patterns
- ·Use correct mathematical notation and representations (numbers, symbols, graphs) to explain what you're doing
- ·Demonstrate understanding by connecting different representations to show they describe the same relationship
- ·Relate your findings back to the context of the problem or use proper mathematical language to explain your thinking
You successfully investigate relationships by making links between tables, equations and graphs, showing you know the relevant concepts and can communicate using appropriate representations.
You demonstrate relational thinking by connecting different concepts and representations together, selecting logical steps to work through the problem, and explaining how your findings relate back to the context or using clear mathematical statements.
