This standard tests whether you can have real conversations in French where you share information and respond to what others say, without a script. You need to talk about things relevant to your own life—events, experiences, past and future plans—using proper French vocabulary and sentence structures that show you understand the language, even if you make some small mistakes along the way.
What to do, grades and common mistakes
- ·Use French naturally in unscripted, unrehearsed conversations without reading from a prepared script
- ·Share information and ideas about personal matters, events, and experiences relevant to your own life
- ·Respond to what your conversation partner says and show you've understood them
- ·Use a range of different vocabulary, sentence types, and ways of expressing ideas appropriate to the topic
- ·Refer to things happening in the present, past, or future as needed in the conversation
