You need to show that you understand how farmers and growers in New Zealand manage their crops and plants—things like watering, fertilising, pruning, and timing of harvest—and how these decisions affect how plants grow and produce. You'll need to describe these connections clearly, and at higher grades you'll explain and compare the effects of different management choices.
What to do, grades and common mistakes
- ·Identify and describe specific management practices used in NZ commercial plant production (e.g. irrigation, fertiliser use, pest control, pruning, variety selection, planting dates)
- ·Explain how each management practice affects plant growth, development, and crop quality
