This standard asks you to draw your design ideas using perspective projection techniques — a way of drawing that shows depth and makes things look three-dimensional. You need to use proper drawing rules and conventions (like vanishing points, eye level lines, and station points) to communicate your design clearly to others.
What to do, grades and common mistakes
- ·Use perspective drawing techniques (parallel and/or angular) to show the design features in three dimensions
- ·Apply the correct conventions for instrumental perspective drawings: picture plane, station point, eye level lines, ground level lines, vanishing points, and height lines
- ·Draw design details accurately — things like windows, door handles, fasteners, or other specific features that matter to your design
- ·Select a viewpoint that shows off the important details of your design effectively
- ·Communicate both how your design works (function) and what it looks like (aesthetics)
You produce a perspective drawing using the correct techniques and conventions that shows what your design looks like and how it works.
You use perspective drawing techniques accurately and clearly, showing the detail and specific features of your design in a way that makes your thinking obvious.
