This standard asks you to show you understand how organisations make decisions involving money. You'll need to describe what options an organisation considers, which decision they made, and use actual financial data to back up why that decision made sense. It's about analysing real business choices and the people affected by them.
What to do, grades and common mistakes
- ·Describe the options (different choices) an organisation could make to solve a problem or take advantage of an opportunity
- ·Describe the actual decision the organisation made and explain why it addresses their need or issue
- ·Use financial data from a tool (like a budget, cost-benefit analysis, or comparison chart) to support and justify the decision
- ·Explain how different stakeholders (employees, customers, owners, community) are affected by or have different views on the decision
- ·Analyse the consequences of the decision — both good and bad outcomes — for the organisation and the people involved
You describe the organisation's options, explain which decision was made and why it solves their problem, and use one piece of financial data to back it up.
