This standard asks you to show that you understand how artworks connect to and are affected by the physical spaces where they're displayed or created. You need to describe the artworks and their environments, then explain how features like location, purpose, historical context, and physical conditions influence what the artwork means and how it works.

- ·Identify and describe specific artworks and the physical environments they exist in (galleries, streets, marae, churches, outdoor spaces, etc.)
- ·Explain the links between the artwork's features and its physical environment (why it was placed there, what the location contributes to its meaning, how the space shapes how people experience it)
- ·Reference environmental contexts, the purposes the artwork was made for, and historical or contemporary influences that shaped both the artwork and its setting
- ·Compare how the same artwork might be experienced differently in different physical environments, or how the environment was specifically designed for that artwork
- ·Make judgments about whether the relationship between the artwork and its environment is effective or meaningful
