You need to create and deliver a speech or presentation that flows naturally and keeps the audience interested by developing your ideas clearly and logically. Your ideas need to be connected to each other and built up over time, using techniques like stories, examples, or analysis. You'll be judged on how fluent (smooth and natural) your delivery is and how well you structure your thoughts so the audience can follow you.
What to do, grades and common mistakes
- ·Create an oral text (speech, presentation, or performance) that is primarily your own work and primarily in English
- ·Develop and link your ideas together throughout the text so they build on each other and form a coherent whole
- ·Structure your ideas logically and sustain them — don't jump around or leave the audience confused
- ·Use fluent delivery with appropriate oral language features like tone, pace, voice, gesture, and body language to suit your purpose and audience
- ·Select and arrange your ideas, structure, and language features deliberately to match what you're trying to achieve
