You need to create a finished media product (like a film, magazine, website, or radio show) that does exactly what a client brief asks for. The product must use proper media techniques and follow the rules of that medium, and it must be made well enough to actually work for the audience it's aimed at.
What to do, grades and common mistakes
- ·Follow the brief instructions precisely, including the target audience, format, purpose, and any legal or ethical requirements
- ·Use production technology (cameras, editing software, design tools, etc.) skillfully to create your product
- ·Apply media conventions correctly and consistently—the standard techniques and features that belong in that type of media
- ·Create a product that engages your audience in a deliberate way through thoughtful choices about design, story, genre, and tone
- ·Produce something complete: a 3+ minute film, 4+ minute documentary, 60-minute radio show, multi-page magazine feature, or layered website with audio/video and graphics
You create a finished media product that meets what the brief asked for, using the medium's conventions in a consistent way.
