This standard asks you to show you understand complex ideas about digital media—things like how to use advanced tools to create content that works across different formats (like web, print, video, or audio). You need to explain why certain techniques matter, discuss design choices, and think through the legal and ethical issues that come with creating digital content in the real world.
What to do, grades and common mistakes
- ·Explain how complex tools and techniques (like HTML/CSS, audio layering, video editing, or image manipulation) are used to create or present digital content
- ·Discuss design elements (colour, contrast, scale, texture, space, and others) and why they matter in digital media outcomes
- ·Explain why content needs to be adapted differently depending on which media type it's being used in (web, print, mobile, DVD, etc.)
- ·Discuss the legal, ethical, and moral responsibilities involved in creating digital media (copyright, licensing, privacy, attribution, digital ownership)
- ·Explain why data integrity and testing procedures are important when developing digital media outcomes
You explain how specific tools and techniques work, discuss relevant design elements, and identify legal and ethical considerations, with examples from at least two different digital media types.
