You need to pick two or three areas of computer science (like artificial intelligence, network protocols, or how software is built) and explain the problems they solve and how they're actually used in the real world. You'll need to show examples of specific techniques or algorithms and why they matter, and at higher grades, you'll explain how these techniques actually work and judge whether they're effective.

- ·Choose 2-3 areas of computer science from the approved list (formal languages, network protocols, complexity and tractability, intelligent systems, software engineering, or graphics and visual computing)
- ·Describe the key problems that each area solves
- ·Describe practical, real-world examples that show how algorithms or techniques from these areas are actually used
- ·Explain how the algorithms or techniques work in those applications (Merit and above)
- ·Evaluate whether the algorithms, techniques, or applications are effective and why (Excellence only)
