You need to create a piece of digital media (like a website, app interface, animation, video, game, or graphic design) that works properly and solves a real problem or purpose for real users. Your job is to build it, test it to make sure it works, explain why you made the choices you did, and think about how it affects people — things like whether it's accessible to everyone, whether it respects privacy, and whether it's actually useful.
What to do, grades and common mistakes
- ·Choose the right tools and techniques to build your digital media that match what it's supposed to do and who will use it
- ·Test your work properly to check it works and doesn't have problems, and use what you learn from testing to make it better
- ·Make real design choices and explain them — colours, layout, fonts, images, user experience — that actually serve your purpose
- ·Think about and describe the real-world impacts of your project, like whether it's accessible, how it treats user data, whether it's usable, and any ethical or legal concerns
- ·Show that you've made improvements based on feedback and testing throughout the whole process
You develop a working digital media outcome using appropriate tools, test it to check it works, and describe at least some of the implications your work might have.
