You need to perform a series of three or more dances in the same style (like three hip-hop pieces, or three contemporary works). The dances must be polished and ready to perform more than once. You'll be assessed on whether you can accurately reproduce the movements, adjust your timing and focus between different pieces, and show that you understand what makes each dance style unique.
What to do, grades and common mistakes
- ·Reproduce the correct movements and body shapes required by each dance in your series
- ·Adjust your timing, focus, and expression between dances so each one looks distinct
- ·Show that you understand the specific style—like the rhythm, musicality, and movement quality that define that genre
- ·Convey the mood, idea, or feeling behind each dance so the audience understands what you're performing
- ·Perform the series more than once with consistency and control
You perform three or more dances accurately with correct movements, timing, and focus that changes between each piece.
You show clear understanding of what makes each dance style unique by nailing the specific movement qualities, posture, and expression that belong to that genre, and you clearly convey the mood of each dance.
