This standard asks you to show you understand the techniques you've chosen for a real project you're designing and making (or planning to make). You'll need to try out different techniques, pick the best ones for the job, and explain why they work for what you're trying to achieve. You must also talk to people who know about your project (like the end user or experts) and use their feedback to improve your technique choices.
What to do, grades and common mistakes
- ·Trial different techniques and select the ones that work best for your project's requirements
- ·Describe what each technique does and why it's appropriate for your chosen outcome
- ·Identify 'functional attributes' (what your finished item needs to do—like be strong, waterproof, flexible, or durable) and match techniques to these qualities
- ·Collect feedback from at least two stakeholders (end users or people with expertise), not just friends
- ·Explain how you used that feedback to improve which techniques you selected
You describe the techniques you tried and pick the most appropriate ones, with a basic explanation of why they work for your project.
You compare different techniques and explain how you made informed choices between them, and you show how stakeholder feedback led you to refine your technique selection.
