This standard asks you to analyse an interpersonal power imbalance situation (like bullying, harassment, discrimination, or intimidation) that affects someone's personal safety. You need to explain what factors cause it, how it damages people's wellbeing, and what strategies can help fix the situation—looking at it from personal, interpersonal, and wider societal angles.
What to do, grades and common mistakes
- ·Identify and explain the personal, interpersonal, and societal factors that create or influence the power imbalance in the relationship or situation
- ·Describe both short-term and long-term consequences of this power imbalance on the wellbeing of people directly and indirectly affected
- ·Propose health-enhancing strategies that address the influencing factors and could reduce harm for those involved
- ·Link your strategies back to the factors and consequences you've identified, showing how they would actually help
- ·Use evidence from resources and your own knowledge to support your explanation, not just list information
You describe the influencing factors, short- and long-term consequences for the victim's wellbeing, and propose personal/interpersonal and societal strategies with some explanation.
