You need to analyse a real situation where someone faces a major life change—like moving countries, dealing with illness, family breakdown, or losing someone—and identify the factors (both positive and negative) that affect how well they can cope with it. Then you'll recommend practical strategies at personal, social, and community levels to help them manage and build resilience.
What to do, grades and common mistakes
- ·Identify and explain both risk factors (things that make change harder to manage) and protective factors (things that help someone cope) that apply to the specific change situation
- ·Recommend a mix of personal strategies (what the person can do themselves), interpersonal strategies (how relationships and social support help), and societal strategies (what systems and communities should do)
- ·Link the factors you identify to resilience—showing how protective factors build it and risk factors threaten it
- ·Connect the risk and protective factors to broader health determinants (like access to education, income, support services)
- ·Show that major life changes don't happen in isolation—explain how one big change creates multiple related changes that all need managing
You identify and explain risk and protective factors clearly linked to the change situation, and recommend personal, interpersonal and societal strategies to address them.
