You'll conduct a practical investigation to identify unknown chemical species in a sample using lab tests and observations. You'll match what you observe to known identification procedures, work out what compound is actually in the sample, and explain why that chemical species matters to people or the environment.

- ·Match your observations to a known identification procedure to identify which chemical species are present
- ·Link the identified species back to the compound that was in the original sample
- ·Explain the real-world or environmental significance of the chemical species you found
