You need to show you understand how well-being, food choices, and health factors (like money, access to food, or support) all connect to each other. You'll analyze a real-life scenario and explain how these three things affect a family or person's health and happiness, and think about how it impacts society too.
What to do, grades and common mistakes
- ·Explain how at least two different health factors (determinants) affect a family's food choices and well-being in the scenario
- ·Show your own knowledge of nutrition and how specific foods impact different parts of well-being (physical, mental, social, spiritual)
- ·Use examples from the scenario but add your own classroom knowledge and ideas, not just repeat what you're given
- ·Connect multiple health factors together—for example, explain how unemployment AND lack of transport affect food choices in different ways
- ·For Excellence: discuss how food choices impact society more broadly, such as effects on the environment, local businesses, or community health
You explain how food choices and one or two health factors affect a family's well-being with some examples, but the explanation is straightforward without much depth.
